Interesting Facts: Clary sage seeds have a mucilaginous coat, and so old herbals recommended putting a clary sage seed into the eye of someone with a foreign object in it, to adhere to the object and make it easy to remove.

Clary sage leaves have been used as a vegetable in cookery. Clary sage was used as a flavoring in ales before the use of hops became common, and also in wine, notably muscatel. Clary sage is also used as a flavoring in some tobacco products.

Clary Sage Essential Oil Uses (Clary Sage Essential Oil Benefits): Clary sage essential oil has been known to be beneficial in regulating cells, hormonal imbalance, menopause problems, PMS, menstrual cramps (minimizes the pain), and itching and irritation of herpes.
