Each of the essential oils used in Aromatherapy can be used either alone or in combinations to create a desired effect. Before using essential oils as part of an Aromatherapy treatment, it is important to understand the effect that the oil (s) have, and how it works. The oils are found in different parts of the plant such as the flowers, twigs, leaves and bark, or in the rind of fruit. For example, in roses it is found in the flowers, in basil it is in the leaves, in sandalwood in the wood, and so on. The methods used to extract the oil are time consuming and expensive and require a high degree of expertise. Given that it takes in excess of 220 pounds of rose petals to produce only 4 or 5 teaspoonfuls of oil, it is a process probably best left to professionals! Due to the large quantity of plant material required, pure essential oils are expensive, but they are also highly effective - only a few drops at a time are required to achieve the desired effect. Synthetic oils are available at a lesser price, but they simply do not have the healing power of the natural oils. They can also be very dangerous as the chemicals used to create them will also be absorbed into your body! The same is true of any non -Organic Essential Oil, due to the fact that the pesticides are also concentrated during the distillation process.
Essential oils have an immediate impact on our sense of smell, also known as "olfaction". When essential oils are inhaled, olfactory receptor cells are stimulated and the impulse is transmitted to the emotional center of the brain, or "limbic system". The limbic system is connected to areas of the brain linked to memory, breathing, and blood circulation, as well as the endocrine glands which regulate hormone levels in the body. The properties of the oil, the fragrance and its effects, determine stimulation of these systems. Aromatherapy Essential Oils are basically plant blood or the life blood of the plant. Plants are very compatible with the human body. In WWII during a severe blood shortage, chlorophyll was used in the place of blood. When used topically, essential oils are not only inhaled, but absorbed through the skin as well. They penetrate the tissues and find their way into the bloodstream where they are transported to the organs and systems of the body. A high Quality Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil will enter the bloodstream within 2 minutes of topical application.
YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS has been instrumental in the growth of the AROMATHERAPY INFORMATION in the United States. For this reason I have the utmost respect for Young Living. YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS has higher quality essential oils then what you will find at your local health food or grocery store. There are many other companies, who sell oils that some people have claimed are diluted. No company has the “best” of all the oils or an exclusive on 100% therapeutic grade essential oils. While one does have to be very careful in selecting their oils, there are other companies who do offer high quality oils at prices much lower than a network marketing company can offer. Therapeutic grade oils are not usually sold in retail stores and it is believed that over 90% of the “essential oils” sold in the U.S. are fragrance oils and unsuitable for healing. Organic essential oils are taken from organically grown plants and are a pure, unadulterated, therapeutic grade oil. They have no other additives. Check the labels of any oils you buy. If they list more ingredients than the essential oil or refuse to list their ingredients, don’t buy it for therapeutic use. If it says anywhere on the label or literature not to use directly on the skin or for fragrance use only; It has been adulterated or a cheaper oil has been added to “stretch” the use. Or, even worse, a synthetic has been added to lower the cost and extend the life. The best way to be sure about the quality of an essential oil, is often the easiest. Buy our oils and smell a certain one for 20 seconds and then do the same with another brand of essential oil and you will be able to smell the chemicals, solvents, or added fragrance.
Gas Chromatograph testing provides ultimate proof. We supply our gas chromatograph results and our organic certification to anyone, just ask! I know of no other company that holds themselves to such high accountability. For example, Young Living Essential Oils oregano that we had tested was around 40% carvacrol (the constituent that makes up the highest amount in Oregano) and Bella Mira Oregano was 83.1%. The higher carvacrol content makes the oil stronger and therefore “better”. You will have to be careful with our oregano since it is quite a bit stronger. We hear back all the time that customers use ½ to ¼ as much oil as they used to use and still get better results. We offer an unconditional Satisfaction Guarantee with 30 day return policy. For ANY reason you are not satisfied simply call and we will make it right. To this day, We have never had any returns! We fill our bottles the day they are shipped, so they are as fresh as possible when you receive them. So you wont get a bottle that was mistakenly left on the wrong shelf for 2 years and dusted off. We practice fair trade for our small farms in developing countries. We also are very conscientious of the environmental impact that essential oil farming does to the land. this is why we choose to carry only oils that can be harvested using renewable resources. Western Australian Sandalwood for instance! We provide housing, clothing, food, education and health to many small villages that would otherwise be destitute. This is our reason for existence. We are not Multi Level or any other type of marketing scam. This allows us to provide discounts, wholesale, private labeling, educational materials (free), and well as help converting your existing Young Living Business into something for rewarding for you. We don't make a profit on shipping! You will not be charge over $7 for 1 bottle of oil. Our shipping rates start at $4.85 but are free with a $150 purchase. We offer a 20% discount for free, to current Young Living Distributors to match the very minimum discount they receive from Young Living. We don't profit by marking up our blends. This is where they make the majority of their profits. Shouldn't blends be cheaper since they are diluted? We think so. We also offer some of our blends undiluted (neet). Our blends are always formulated with 100% organic jojoba or Fractionated Coconut Oil. For your convenience we offer all of our single oils in both 15 and 5ml sizes. We offer real help on the use of essential oils as well as the largest searchable essential oil database in the world. We don't tell you "this may work" or "look it up yourself because we can't tell you." When we don't have the answer you need, we don't make one up like: "we don't carry that because it toxic or there are no pure sources". We will find the answer for you!
We work with small farms that grow the plants right (organically) and then distill them properly (low temperature and no/low pressure). A plant grown in the “proper” part of the world will produce superior quality oil. Just look back to our answer on question one and you can see that our wild oregano from Turkey is far superior to what is being grown else ware. Now despite the marketing hype that any company grows all their own oils –is simply not true. Simply asked their customer service department where each of their oils come from. If they try to say that they grow all the plants simply ask, “Where are your Myrrh trees grown?” Since Myrrh trees take a generation to produce good oil and they only grow in the Mediterranean. No company can not be growing their own Myrrh trees since they don't have a farm in the Mediterranean and no company has not been in business for that long.
This is very important because the process of distilling would concentrate any pesticides!
Leading companies do not do certified organic farming. To prove this, supply ask them to supply you with an organic certificate. I have been trying to get one from them for the past ten years. Ask if you can visit the farms and see for yourself. 9 times out of 10 they wont even know where the farms are! Or they have 1 or 2 select US farms you can visit but the majority of the rest of the plants are grown far out of the public eye! We strive to get certified organic essential oils 100% of the time. However many countries do not have organic certifying bodies, so even though we know there were grown organically we call them wild crafted. If we have to choose between not having a certain oil or having one with pesticides, we go without. |
