Interesting Facts: Lavender derives from the latin word - lavare - to wash oneself. The medical men of the antiquity prescribed lavender against the plague and other kinds of pestilence. A thousand years ago lavender was brought by monks to the northern parts of Europe.

Lavender Essential Oil Benefits: Lavender essential oil is beneficial for skin conditions, anti-spasmodic, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, acne, arthritis, rheumatism, insomnia (may be excellent), tachycardia, phlebitis, mouth abscess, indigestion, flatulence, nausea, lowering blood pressure, fluid retention. Lavender essential oil has assisted in elimination of waste through lymphatic system, pre-menstrual and menopausal problems, thrush, hair loss, dandruff, burns, stretch marks, minimizing scarring, herpes, diaper rash, ulcers, cankers, allergies, asthma, athlete's foot, boils, bruises, wounds, dermatitis, earache, chronic fatigue syndrome and boost immunity. Lavender Essential Oil Properties (Constituents): The essential oil (1 to 3%) is rich in linalyl acetate (30 to 55%) and linalool (20 to 35%). Further aroma components are β-ocimene, cineol, camphor and caryophyllene epoxide; even coumarin derivatives (coumarin, dihydrocoumarin, herniarin, umbelliferone) were found.
