To keep your fine glassware from streaking, add two tablespoons vinegar to the detergent in your dishwasher. Your glasses will be streak free and have an extra-added shine. If you keep a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and water in a spray bottle to use for cleaning windows, you will make your life a lot simpler. When you use vinegar in your water to wash your windows, dry then with newspaper and your windows will sparkle. If you mix vinegar with water to rinse dishes after washing them, you will help take the soap off them and leave the dishes shining. Vinegar is an excellent grease cutter and is cost effective and very safe with no harsh chemicals. A great way to clean your Corning ware dishes is to add one-fourth cup vinegar with dish soap. The water must be hot to remove all the stains and grease. You can clean your stainless steel pots, pans, your oven, and all of the stovetop with the same mixture. Just dap the mix on and let it set for a few minutes then wipe it clean. If you do dishes by hand sometimes, glasses seem to have a sour smell. Then go over the area with the ammonia solution, let it sit and blot again. Repeat until the stain is gone. When waxing a floor after scrubbing with a floor stripper, use one cup of vinegar to rinse water. It neutralizes the chemicals and makes wax or floor finish adhere better. Remove water stains from leather by rubbing with a cloth dipped in a vinegar and water solution. The staining that occurs in clay and plastic flowerpots and their saucers come right out with no scrubbing. All you have to do is fill the kitchen sink with cold water and add plain white vinegar about 2/3 water – 1/3 vinegar. Soak pots and saucers until they look clean and new. Wash with soap and water before using. To get out that bleach smell from counter tops spray with vinegar and the smell goes away. This also works well when washing fabrics, try and extra rinse with one cup of vinegar in it to get rid of the bleach smell. To keep your freshly cleaned oven from stinking up your house the next time you bake something, wipe it with white vinegar as a final rinse. It neutralizes the harsh alkali of oven cleaners. On heavily tarnished copper or copper-alloy to be cleaned up, use a paste made of salt and vinegar. It will clean it with no problem. Use one part vinegar and one part water to take pet odors out of carpets. Find the spot, and saturate it with about one and one half the original volume. Let it set for a while and then blot up. Repeat if your cloth is very dirty after blotting. Make sure to turn on a fan or open a window for the large spots. To make air freshener, use one-teaspoon baking soda, one-tablespoon vinegar and two cups of water. After is stops foaming, mix well, and using a spray bottle, spray it into the air.
