For many people especially during their younger years acne, pimples or spots can be a real problem and worry. A rapid solution to a flare up or a spot or acne is to use distilled vinegar.

All you need to do is dab white distilled vinegar, on the affected area and leave it on. It will energize the circulation in the face and actually shrink blemishes. Be warned though, if you use vinegar on your skin every day it tends to dry out your skin.

 

You can use vinegar as an antiseptic to reduce the itch from mosquito or other insect bites, apply directly to the skin.

If you are suffering with rectal itching, dampen a gauze square in apple cider vinegar and apply gently, it will ease the discomfort of rectal itching.

 

If you are struggling with itchy welts, hives, swelling, or blemishes. The discomfort can be eased by the application of a paste of vinegar and cornstarch. Just pat it on and feel the itch being drawn out as the paste dries.

Headaches and pain will disappear if you add a dash of apple cider vinegar to the water in a vaporizer and inhale for 5 minutes. After this lay quietly and try not to concentrate on the pain and the headache should be relieved in 20 minutes.

 

It is said that you can improve your memory by drinking a glass of warm water before each meal with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in.

 

A great tonic for aching feet is a ankle deep bath water in which 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar has been added. Do this for 5 minutes, first thing in the morning, and last thing at night before going to bed.

Hot, aching feet will be soothed and cooled.

 

A small amount of vinegar, taken every day, keeps the urinary tract acidic. This is useful in the reduction or treatment of a bladder or kidney infection.

To take vinegar orally:

Combine 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of honey, and a full glass of warm water. A normal dose of the above can be taken up to 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

If you are having any problems with yeast or fungus such as thrush, ringworm, athletes foot or recurrent yeast infections, add 1/2 cup vinegar to the rinse cycle of your laundry.

The vinegar breaks down the outside shell of the yeast to allow for the heat from the dryer to kill it completely. Doing this regularly along with other treatment will help get rid of the problem for good!

Vinegar is great for treating most types of fungal infection. Dab neat vinegar on the affected area three times a day. The vinegar will kill the fungal infection.

 

If you are suffering with a bladder infection the following could help: Take 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar by mouth every fifteen minutes for an hour at first sign of discomfort.

Make sure you drink lots of water and it is okay to dilute the vinegar with water!

Apple cider vinegar is a safe remedy for many ailments, including indigestion, diarrhea, high blood pressure and difficult menstruation. Gargling with tsp (5ml) a cider vinegar in a glass of warm water relieves a sore throat and a tickling cough.

 

Gargle with apple cider vinegar daily especially in the morning. Then brush as usual. This will help to remove stains and whiten teeth especially effective in killing bacteria in the mouth and on the gums.

 

If you have sensitive skin, use vinegar in your bath water to keep bacteria from forming infections or starting rashes

If wart is on hand or foot, soak in warm apple cider vinegar for 15 minutes every day for at least 2 weeks. May take a little longer, but this does work!

You can also remove a wart by applying a lotion of half cider vinegar and half glycerine. Apply daily to warts until they dissolve.

A different tips is as follows. If you soak pennies in vinegar until the vinegar turns green and give your wart a bath in the green vinegar every night, your wart will be gone within a week.

 

Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? Drink a couple of spoonfuls of vinegar daily to fight off these unwanted pests. But do note, your perspiration will be unpleasant during the day you drink vinegar.

You can also add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a quart of drinking water to repel mosquitos.

In both cases vinegar helps to deal with heat stress so you get double for your money!

 

If you have trouble controlling dry, chapped and cracked skin in the dry winter months, use vinegar with water (half and half solution) on a cloth soaking the affected areas.

You can also use vinegar in your bath to promote quick healing.

 

If you would like an alternative treatment for colds try mixing one-quarter cup apple cider vinegar with one-quarter cup of honey. Take this entire mixture to feel relief from your cold symptoms.

You can use this use to eight times a day to fight off your cold.

A very old remedy for colds is to soak an eight-inch square of brown paper (grocery bag paper) in apple cider vinegar. When the paper is saturated, sprinkle it with pepper and bind to the chest with cloth strips, pepper side of the paper next to the skin. After 20 minutes, remove the paper and wash the chest.

 

As soon as you feel the first signs of a cold sore (usually a tingling sensation) apply vinegar to the area and keep re-applying for 3-4 minutes (this may sting but that means it's working).

Then use Vaseline to soothe the area. If applied at the first sign of a cold sore, this method will prevent the cold sore completely.

 

Boil your toothbrushes. Boil some water, add a cup of vinegar and boil your toothbrushes for about a minute - not too long or they will melt! This kills germs preventing illnesses from spreading in your home

No time to boil? Simply dipping your toothbrush in vinegar not only will fight bacteria on your toothbrush and in your mouth, but will help to whiten your teeth.

 

You can help ease a sore throat with one-tablespoon vinegar to 8 ounces of warm water, gargle every hour, and swallow after gargling.

Alternatively, you can take equal amounts of honey and cider vinegar and stir or shake until dissolved. Take a tablespoon at a time to cut mucous in the throat.

 

Do you suffer from headaches? Using a washcloth, soak in vinegar; place it on your forehead for quick and effective relief.

Another historical remedy for relieving a headache is to soak a brown paper bag in apple vinegar and apply to your forehead.

 

You can also create your own vinegar douche using one cup of white vinegar and filling the bottle with water. Cut your hygiene costs to pennies.

 

Here is a recipe that will make a mixture to gargle to help soothe a sore throat.

To make 1 treatment

  • 8 fl oz/225 ml warm water
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 drops Tabasco sauce
  • Pinch of salt

Pour the water into a glass and add the remaining ingredients. Gargle as much as necessary and then spit the rinse out. if the mixture is too spicy, add another tablespoon of water. Make only as much as needed at one time. If your sore throat persists, consult your doctor.

 

While this may not be the most popular tip, using vinegar on the tongue of a sassy child will prevent them from saying another nasty word when they are learning to repeat what others say!

 

Do you suffer from allergies to seafood. Try dipping the seafood in vinegar before eating. NOTE: this may not work for all users.

 

Many people have problems with boils and ingrown hairs that leave scars. Using hot towel or hot pack soaked in vinegar on the affected area for fifteen to twenty minutes three or four times a day will bring the area to a point where the puss will ease out.

It is also important not to squeeze the area. This can save you a trip to the doctors.

 

Have you been searching for a cure for swimmers ear? Use one half teaspoon white vinegar with one teaspoon rubbing alcohol tipped in the ear and then tip your head the other way so it can drain out while evaporating any water in your ear.

 

I had a friend who lost her voice on a regular basis and said it usually returns in a week, she tried this recipe and regained her voice in a day or two. This has also worked on all sorts of throat ailments from tonsils to sore throats to coughs in the upper throat. our extended family have used it for years with success.

For all throat ailments use 1 sip every 10 minutes or as needed if feeling better usually for 2 days max.

put the following in a microwave safe cup (I will list the mild - max, mild I had used for my kids and new people that may not handle the stronger max.)

Red Pepper AKA Cayenne 1/16 tea (a few grains)- 1/4 tea.

Powdered Ginger 1/8 tea - 1/4 tea.

Honey (preference Fireweed) 1 - 2 TAB, depending on how sweet you like it.

Lemon juice (fresh or concentrate) 2 Tab.

Vinegar (Garlic red wine or raspberry My preference but apple cider vinegar ok.) 2 TAB.

Place cup in microwave for no more then 10 seconds at a time, first time over heat to bubbling let cool on spoon as you blow to cool. You will want to drizzle it down your throat trying not to swallow it, the key is to let it work on your throat not your stomach. re-heat for 10 seconds every 10 min or as needed. really works well. 

Final note if too strong can add 1-2 Tablespoons of water but please try not to dilute.

Here are 3 tips to help with a sore throat all using vinegar

If you are suffering with a sore throat, just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

Ease the discomfort of a sore throat and speed healing by sipping occasionally on a syrup made of 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup water, 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, and 3 tablespoons honey.

A vinegar gargle can ease the pain of a sore throat. Just gargle with a glass of warm water to which a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar has been added.

 

To soothe a sore throat, mix equal parts honey and vinegar together, the honey soothes and eases the pain, and the vinegar is a natural antiseptic. I usually use, apple cider vinegar as it tastes a little better, but any vinegar should do.

 

Believe it or not vinegar can ease the pain. Any type will do but wine vinegar or cider vinegar may taste better. Put a teaspoon of vinegar in a glass of water. Gargle, then swallow. Do this 3 times a day until things are on the mend.

 

An upset stomach will calm down if you sip quietly on a glass of very warm water, to which has been added 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon vinegar. This is also good for easing gas.

You can stop the discomfort of nausea or vomiting by placing a cloth wrung out of warm apple cider vinegar on the stomach. Replace with another warm cloth when it cools.

 

Vinegar works great for yeast infections too. Put some in your bath water. Do this twice daily for a few days and the infection will be gone without using medicines or creams.

This is also safe for children who have yeast infection problems.

 

Mix 1/3 rubbing alcohol, 1/3 white vinegar and 1/3 water. Store it in any old clean dropper bottle and use it to clean out your ears. This works good on dogs and cats too. This is a good remedy for swimmers ear also.

 

If you have a corn or callus, soak a piece of stale bread or a cloth in vinegar and tape it over the callus or corn overnight.

Use this remedy for a few nights and you will find relief. The area will just peel off after a few consecutive nights of treatment.

 

If you have irritable bowel syndrome ( IBS ), sip some water with apple cider vinegar during the day. Those symptoms will disappear.

 

Try using vinegar as a bug spray. Put some vinegar in a spray bottle and use it the next time you see a bug. This is safe to spray even on your furniture and near pet dishes or children’s toys.

 

For a stiff neck, take half vinegar half warm water solution and soak a rag in it. Wring out the rag and wrap it around your neck. Put a layer of plastic wrap, to save your sheets, and finish up with a towel.

Leave this on over night and in the morning you will feel good as new.

 

When the weather starts changing and you get a nagging cough, take two tablespoons of any kind of vinegar 3 times a day and that cough will go away.

I prefer cider vinegar mixed in warm water with 2 teaspoons of honey.

You can also soothe a night cough by sprinkling the pillowcase with apple cider vinegar.

 

If you feel the stomach flu coming on, sip on the following mixture:

One teaspoon of cider vinegar in a half to three-fourths cup of water.

Honey may be added for taste if you want. This will stop the nauseous feeling without medications.

You can also soothe an upset stomach if you sip quietly on a glass of very warm water, to which has been added 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon vinegar.

Do you have unsightly toenails? Medicine for toenail or nail fungus can be expensive. Use one part vinegar to one part warm water and soak your nails. This repeated over the course of a week will clear up your toenails.

This will do the same good as the medicines. This will also soften your skin.

 

You can also use vinegar for wasp and yellow jacket stings. Just soak cotton ball in cider vinegar and hold to the sore spot. Within a few minutes the pain stops. It would work on bee stings too; only get the stinger out first.

 

Vinegar can help when children get head lice. Take warm vinegar and put it on the hair, dip a nit comb in vinegar to help remove nits.

It is supposed to be able to break down the glue that the nits use to stay attached.

Another method is to mix 2 cups of vinegar with mineral oil (saturate head with mineral oil) it will make nit removal easy and pain free.

Rinsing hair in vinegar each night will also help keep lice away!!!

 

If you get rashes or pimples after shaving, use a little apple cider vinegar as aftershave.

 

Splash vinegar on your varicose veins, this is something you should try if you have problems with painful veins! The vinegar reduces the veins and relieves pain and swelling.

Another more relaxing method to relieve the discomfort and unsightliness of varicose veins is by wrapping your legs with a cloth wrung out of apple cider vinegar. Leave this on, with the legs propped up, for 30 minutes, morning and evening. 

Considerable relief will be noticed within 6 weeks. To speed up the healing process, follow each treatment with a glass of warm water, to which a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar has been added. Sip slowly, and add a teaspoon of honey if feeling overtired.

 

Add one half cup of vinegar to your warm bath water and you will get double the effects. You will have softer skin and clean the bathtub with less work.

The vinegar will soften your skin as well as deodorize the bathtub.

 

Soak dentures in household vinegar to loosen plaque; then brush with baking soda. The chemical reaction cleans between teeth, and the polishing action makes the dentures shiny and smooth.

Tastes good, too!

 

Vinegar makes a great eyeglass cleaner. Mix white vinegar half and half with water. Keep a tiny spray bottle handy for whenever you need to clean your glasses.

 

To make a good liniment, beat one whole egg, add one-cup vinegar and one-cup turpentine and then blend.

 

Vinegar naturally helps remove fat from the body; apple cider vinegar is especially good for this. Drink some in a glass of water a few times a day and add a little lemon or honey for a better flavor. This will also help reduce your appetite and lose weight.

When you are gardening, if you do not wear gloves especially when you are working with roses or blackberries, your hands can be scratched or nicked. Put some vinegar in a spray bottle and use it when you get scratches on your hands or legs.

It will burn for a few seconds, but after that you are good as new and you do not have to run in the house every time to clean the wound. Using vinegar with help eliminate the chance of infection.

 

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent supplement that provides potassium, calcium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus and iron. It has no saturated fat, no cholesterol, and no sodium.

 

Vinegar helps eliminate thrush in the mouth, which is sometimes caused by antibiotic use. Mix four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a gallon of drinking water. Drink up to one gallon each day.

 

If you have problems with fungus on your fingernails, you can try soaking your hands in a bowl of water with a few teaspoons of vinegar in it. You can use one part vinegar to one part water and soak your feet to treat toenail fungus. You can also use this to treat athlete’s foot.

 

Use two cups of cider vinegar in the tub to soak sore muscles and add potassium to muscles. You can treat muscle cramps or Charlie horses by soaking in a tub with some vinegar in it. These cramps are caused by low potassium.

You can also help night time leg cramps by supplementing meals with a glass of water, fortified with apple cider vinegar.

Another recipe for preventing leg cramps is combine 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, and 1 tablespoon calcium lactate in 1/2 glass of water. Take once per day.

 

If you suffer with insomnia. mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one cup of honey and mix in an airtight container. When you have trouble drifting off, take two teaspoons and you will fall asleep in no time.

In addition, you will not be groggy in the morning as you would if you took sleep aids.

 

To keep your fine glassware from streaking, add two tablespoons vinegar to the detergent in your dishwasher. Your glasses will be streak free and have an extra-added shine.

 

Vinegar in drinking water is effective in eliminating low-grade fevers that are present in Chronic Fatigue sufferers.

Mix four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a gallon of drinking water. Drink up to one gallon each day.

 

One-teaspoon cider vinegar with one-teaspoon honey three times daily helps with arthritis. It dissolves the crystal deposits of uric acid that form between joints and in the muscles as with muscle rheumatism. It also dissolves bone spurs over long periods.

 

Vinegar works great at cleaning your dentures. Leave your dentures in vinegar for as long as you would leave them in a denture cleanser about fifteen minutes to a half an hour. Then brush them thoroughly.

Your dentures will be cleaner and whiter than any dental cleaner could do.

 

Get some relief from blocked sinus' and chest colds using this easy tip. Add 1/4 cup or more vinegar to a vaporizer and let this run all night long. Breathe the vinegar in and feel the relief all through your body.

If you do not have a vaporizer you can still have some relief, just fill a bowl with very warm water add the vinegar. Cover your head with a towel and lean over the bowl breathing in the vapors clearing your sinuses!

When ever we suffer from indigestion or heartburn, the treatment is sometimes worse than the symptom. Antacids are not always the best remedy.

Our stomachs produce less acid over time and that causes the same symptoms as too much acid. The acid in vinegar will help digest your food and over a period, alleviate heartburn if yours is caused by a lack of stomach acid.

 

Do you need a little pick me up? Use two cups of white grape juice, two cups of apple juice and mix with one cup of apple cider vinegar.

Mix well and refrigerate. Dink a small cup of this mixture each morning to get your body going.
