Sage Essential Oil  Uses (Medicinal): In Europe Sage Essential Oil has been recognized for its benefits of strengthening the vital center, skin conditions, eczema, acne, hair loss, and dandruff. Sage Essential Oil may assist metabolism, menopause, general stimulant, activating nervous system and adrenal cortex, diuretic, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, anti-cancer, lymphatic, digestion, liver, urinary, pulmonary, chronic bronchitis, asthma, night sweats, glandular disorders (improving estrogen and progesterone-testosterone balance), menstrual irregularity, gingivitis, disinfectant, bacterial infections, sprains, catarrh, rheumatism, arthritis, astringent.

Sage Essential Oil  Uses (Emotional): relieving depression, mental fatigue and strain.

Smudging with Essential Oils/ Smudging with Sage: This is not the correct sage for smudging. For that you need white sage or Artemisia ludoviciana. However you can get great benefits from combining Sage Essential Oil and Artemisinin Essential Oil. You can add this mixture to your smudging stick 24 hours before the ceremony. A few drops will do. Allow this to soak into the herbs for at least 24 hours. This will greatly increase your benefits as it will emit more negative ions. You can also use a nebulizing diffuser with this mixture instead of a smudging stick for the ceremony. Just follow the directions on the smudging link and use the diffuser instead. When the smell has started to permeate a room then it is clean.

For general household cleansing use the sage/ Artemisinin mixture and put a few drops in every opening of your home or building; windows, door posts and thresholds, vents, closets, etc.. This a great practice at the change of every season.

Sage Essential Oil Properties (Constituents): b-thujone as the major components, with cineole, borneol, camphor, 2-methyl-3-methylene-5-heptene
